The Boston Red Sox are the 2004 World Series Champions of Major League Baseball!
We believed … and won.
“Again, there is no reason we can’t be the last team standing, we believe, so you better believe with us, no matter what happens between now and win 11. The post season is the same roller coaster ride the regular season is, just in a condensed format.” -Curt Schilling 10.05.04

God damnit. Next year it’s Cubs or Cardinals face the Sox, and the NL team is winning. Mark my words.

By by the way. . . I guess there’s no other team I’d rather the Cards lose to. The Yankees win too much, and at least now the Red Sox fans can stop bitching about a Babe Ruth curse.

I had little doubt that the Sox would take it when I saw them come back in games 4 and 5 of the LCS, but I wasn’t thinking sweep until at least game 3 of the Series. The curse is over!!!
    Congratulations!
P.S. I wonder what Manny Ramirez and Yadier Molina were talking about at home plate…

Brian, apparently it was about Cabrera getting some pitches inside. Manny didn’t like it so Molina and him exchanged some words.

Congrats. Evan. My lucky cat, Dufas, brought it in for you. He told me he loved the way the Red Sox went about their at-bats and that the score last night could have been 9-0 with a couple of breaks…..
Now, I can relax and go back to cheering for my A’s.

Great win, the world series feeling was all i expected. But when i woke up this morning i had this thought, is the peak of my baseball watching career over at 16 years old? I hope not.

The pinnacle will come when you are in your 40s when the Red Sox win their 27th World Series, surpassing the Yankees’ record.

Bucky Dent is replaced with David Ortiz’s shot.
Buckner is replaced with Schilling’s Game Six.
Aaron Boone is replaced with Foulke – Minky.
