JULY 29th, 2007 GAME THREAD
Daisuke Matsuzaka (12-7, 3.79) @ Scott Kazmir (7-7, 4.02)
Boston Red Sox (64-40) @ Tampa Bay Devil Rays (38-65)
1:40 PM EDT at Tropicana Field (St. Petersburg, FL)
TV: NESN | RADIO: WRKO 680, WROL (Sp.)
AL EAST GAMES: NYY @ BAL l TOR @ CWS

PRIOR GAME VS. CLE: Boston 12, Tampa Bay 6 (F/12) on 7/28/07
DECISION: W: Kyle Snyder | L: Brian Stokes
STAR OF THE GAME: Kyle Snyder- 2 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 2 K
RED SOX’S PREVIOUS GAME: Boston 12, Tampa Bay 6 (F/12) on 7/28/07

GAME NOTES: Things are going well for our Boston Red Sox. Winners of 8 of the last 10 games, including 5 of 6 on the road, Boston looks to sweep cellar-dweller Tampa with Dice-K toeing the rubber. Since recording three poor starts, Matsuzaka rebounded in a big way with a dominating performance against the Cleveland Indians Wednesday en route to a thrilling 1-0 victory. Opposing Dice-K for the Rays is Scott Kazmir, who’s been the victim of high pitch counts and lack of offensive support for a medicore 7-7 record, and one Sox fans have seen all too often. Mike Lowell does have some success against the hard throwing lefty: .308, 1 HR and 2 RBI in 13 AB. Dougie and Pena are in the lineup today.

It is in ProJo that Timlin has a sore shoulder. He won’t throw until Tuesday.

I’d definitely consider Ensberg a current upgrade over Hinske, as much as I like the dude.

Why get Ensberg? He really doesn’t provide much of anything. He may be a better hitter, which i don’t think at all, he doesn’t play the OF. Hinske can play LF, RF, 1B, and 3rd if you are in a pinch. Plus he is a lefty bat that complaments Pena’s righty bat.

With the way WMP has been playing in the last couple of games, I would like to trade Drew and take my chances with a combination of Pe?
