I know that Evan is claiming that I didn’t write an article today; I have strong disagreements with what this man says about me. I’m not saying that MVN’s website is entirely wrong, I’m merely saying Evan Brunell’s statements about me are wrong. Evan Brunell is my friend. He was my friend before this. He will be my friend after this and again. I think Evan has misheard. I think he misremembers.
PITCHERS AND CATCHERS REPORT TODAY
Okay, I won’t turn this into a Roger Clemens article. I am excited for spring training and I promise to deliver more content once it happens. Let’s use this pathetic post to comment about pitchers and catchers reporting. For now, my life is filled with questions and anticipation. We can analyze every aspect of the starting pitching, bullpen, starting nine, and bench. but there are questions that remain.

Joba Chamberlain is going to start the year in the bullpen, will he be more valuable to the Yankees than Papelbon is to the Red Sox? If Schilling can’t start, who will have the better 5th starter between New York and Boston? Is Julian Tavarez more valuable as a starter and contributor to the bullpen or as trade bait for prospects?
If you had to have a 2nd baseman for the next 5 years, would you pick Robbie Cano or Dustin Pedroia? Would you rather have Mike Lowell and Kevin Youkilis manning the corners for your team or A-Rod on 3B and a AAA+ player on 1B? As Evan precluded to yesterday, would you rather have the young pitching of the Sox or the Rays? If Schilling can’t pitch in ’08, how does that tarnish his legacy from ’04 and ’07?
I’m hoping that the comments answer these questions and more. The Boston Globe is reporting that Daisuke Matsuzaka has gotten “used to” his routine and Clay Buchholz has worked harder than any member of the team not named Manny Ramirez. Will the starting five really be as good as advertised, or are the Blue Jays rotation (now healthy, especially if BJ Ryan is ready to close out the game) or the Rays rotation (filled with potential) ready to overtake the Sox rotation which outside of Josh Beckett is aging or unproven?
I know this year won’t contend with the February of 2007 when I religiously checked the Boston Globe and Boston Herald for pictures of Dice-K. I imagine this February will be filled with stories of Schill
