David or Bryan?

Mike Timlin is returning tomorrow, so another move in the bullpen will have to be made. For a variety of purposes, it is unlikely that Javier Lopez will be given the boot (2 IP, 2.50 WHIP, 9.00 ERA, 3 H, 2 BB, 2K).

The choice likely comes down to either David Aardsma or Bryan Corey. As much as I like Corey, I think the best course of action here would be to move him (and he would certainly be picked up by another team, Tigers?). He's pitched 4.1 IP of a 14.54 ERA (9 H, 7 ER, 1 BB, 3 K) and is an old fogey compared to talented 26-year old Aardsma (albeit with shaky command) who has 4.1 IP as well of a 2.08 ERA, 2 H, 4 BB, 6 K. Choice looks pretty easy from here. What's your choice?

Potential? The guy is 26, has pitched over 100 innings and has a 5.02 ERA. The guy has been cut from the Giants, Cubs, and White Sox. PECOTA was the most optimistic projection for him and it only sees him have a 4.32 ERA with a 1.39 WHIP. I'll take Gronkiewicz over him 9 times of out 10. Just cause a guy can throw gas doesn't mean he is a stud.

Corey and Aardsma should stay, Lopez is the one who should be packing his bags, i don't know why we keep a guy like that in our pen.

Both? Are you telling me either pitcher can out pitch Hansen, Hansack, or Gronk?

I think we can't get rid of Aardsma. He's too young with too much potential. I also think that Hansen needs to spent three full months doing what he's been doing lately before we consider bringing him up.

Drop Corey, keep Aardsma.

Actually, I'd drop Lopez and keep both, but Theo will never do that.

bye-bye bryan! After his utterly wretched performance last night, he should definitely be the weakest link. Have fun in the NL.

shoot the drummer. good luck elsewhere Bryan.

i was hoping this would be a tough roster move for me to stomach... but i really don't feel bad about letting Corey go. it's hard to believe Snyder made the post season roster over both Corey and Tavarez in 07.

I would drop Corey for now, keep Aradasma around until Hansen is ready, if Hansen is ready, then Aradasma can hit the streets. Lopez sucks, and maybe Aradasma can stay if he preforms in place of Lopez. I know Lopez is a LOOGY however, he is virtually useless and I would rather have another reliable reliever in his place
