Wang proving he is an ace
Chien-Ming Wang went the distance for the New York Yankees tossing a two-hitter against the Red Sox. With stellar pitching and timely offense the Yankees took game one of the series 4-1.
Wang (3-0) only allowed one run on a J.D. Drew homerun that was almost caught at the bullpen wall. The only other hit allowed by Wang was on a bunt by Coco Crisp.
On the bright side for Boston, Drew, has been hot at the plate leading the team in homeruns with three.  Also, Drew has notched a hit in every game e has played in so far this season.
Goat of the Game: Mike Timlin
Well, Timlin could not hold onto the tie eventually leading to the Sox loss and his first loss of the season. Although the Sox lost Boston should be happy with Clay Buchholz efforts on the hill going 6 innings, on four hits, one run, three walks, and three strikeouts.
Preview of the Next Game: Mike Mussina vs Josh Beckett
I will say it again: What a time for Beckett to get back up on the horse facing the Evil Empire.

I would just like to say that J.D. Drew is not "coming out of nowhere." The guy has a career .302 EqA. Just because we haven't seen him rack doesn't mean he hasn't for almost his whole career.
Man, i love standing up for Drew when he is hitting well.

Dave:
You've been waiting for this moment for awhile...congrats!
We all know Papi will come around, so if Drew can keep hitting this was all season, the Sox should be in decent shape offensively.
In fact, let's prove it by rocking Moose today! (Looking up Sox career numbers against Mussina, and one in particular stands out: Varitek is 8-for-60 with 25 K's. Yikes.)

Yeah, you're right Dave. The guy's a career .285/.391/.502 hitter. I've always supported Drew because at least he gets on base and plays solid defense even when he isn't hitting very well. And if we didn't sign Drew, who would have played right field last year? Gary Matthews Jr? Trot Nixon? Wily Mo Pena?

So...I was looking forward to watching one of the three Sox/Yanks games this weekend today, and FOX decides to shove the Diamondbacks and Rockies down my throat. I don't mind watching that game (slowly becoming a D-backs fan...that's what the Giants do to you), but I can't figure out why, living in San Fran, I would get the alternate game.
So...I figured I would simulcast the Sox/Yanks game on MLB.tv while watching the D-backs/Rox on TV...except, because the Sox/Yanks are the nationally televised game, they're blacked out on MLB.tv.
You just can't win, can you?

No, but you can listen to the game and at least can get tomorrow night's game, yeah?

True...guess I'll have to settle for an Audio/Gameday combination; hopefully they won't be too un-synched.
I'm going to the Giants game tomorrow, but hopefully I'll be back in time for the start of the Sox/Yanks game. Knowing the Giants, maybe I'll just take off around the 7th to catch first pitch. :-)
