POLL: Send Buchholz down!

The poll question submitted by Jc in response to winning a trivia question and results are:

What should the Red Sox do when Bartolo Colon returns?

  • Send Buchholz to Pawtucket

    63% of all votes

  • Send one of the listed to the pen/demote a reliever

    18% of all votes

  • Make Colon a reliever

    15% of all votes

  • Send Lester down there

    4% of all votes

Since Clay has since gone on the DL, this may have potentially solved the quandary. Buchholz, struggling as of late, gets a mental break plus his innings limited. David Pauley is expected to draw the start in Buchholz's plate, then Colon will slide in, meaning they could option Clay to Triple-A once his 15 days are up. Personally, this is the right move. What do you think? (New poll on the right, by the way ---  vote or add your answer!)

I voted for make Colon a reliever only because there was no option for "Ignore the guy who has been terrible 3 of the past 4 years and has no shoulder, until he has more than 14 minor league innings under his belt. Being good for 14 innings is nice, but hardly worth a look. Also an outing of more than 6 innings down there would be appreciated."

Apparently I'm not bright enough to be able to make the "Add an Answer" bit work. I want to add - and vote for - Tim Wakefield to become a reliever, but I can't seem to get that to happen. Can one of you clever types add him for me? Thanks.

Clay is our future superstar, but not until he gets his feet back under him at Pawtucket. I wish he spent April there. He would be ready now. As would Kennedy.

I agree with Aubrey that, like Buchholz, Colon is a sure bet only after he has finished his rehab in Pawtucket. Pauley and others are capable of pitchng a few games until June 1.

I would love to see Wake play another 5+ years for the Red Sox, getting him a 20 year pin and a few more WS rings; and to see him in the Pen as swingman to insure this. In for long relief, if his knuckler isn't working, Tito can pull him early. If it's working, he keeps him in there until closing. And a 5+man rotation keeps everyone rested and healthy.

Thanks for adding Wakefield, whoever you are. I love democracy - too bad Theo isn't bound by it.

Hmmmm ... I can't get the "Add an answer" to work either ... strange ... Well I would like to add the following choice if someone wants to put it up...

"Someone not on this ridiculous list"

Just for all of us who are too lazy to think up a "reasonable" name and yet would rather not have the original Jabba attempt to throw a baseball for us ... Thanks
