While BC’s successful return adds wins and unimaginable depth to our rotation, I think we can also be happy with the trends of other players:
Jacoby’s 4thHR, and raising his average to .290. I think we all knew he would be an impact player on the bases and in the field, but wondered if he would be a .300 hitter with high OPS or hit for power. Even as he figures out the MLB, he is edging back to .300 and is on pace to hit a dozen HR as a rookie, and promise of more as he matures.
The Captain’s bat. Jason is a hitter again, and is trending towards earning an All-Star berth.
Coco Crisp seems to be thriving in this 4-man OF . . . with an offense as strong as his D, and inspired base running.
This homestand seems to have gotten our Bullpen back on its feet.
