Sorry for this aside, but Craig Breslow was just dfa’d by Cleveland to make room for Joe Boroski returning from the DL. As Craig was claimed off waivers, doesn’t that mean we get him back again?
IMO, that would be a good thing. He now has MLB experience, did from OK to very well in Cleveland, considering the adjustments he had to make to a new city and a new team, etc. Perhaps after getting back to Pawtucket & Boston’s comfortable surroundings, he could help at Fenway almost right away. If so, then things worked out.
Could be wrong, but I believe that only applies for rule 5 picks gerry. He’s a free agent if he doesn’t accept the assignment.
If you ask me, DFAing anyone for blowarski is an insane move.
gerry — I agree. I hope they make an effort to sweep him up anyway.
I’m pretty sure the rule is that he goes back on waivers, and the Sox can only get him if they claim him and no one ahead of them does. Could be wrong, but my knowledge seems to agree with Sean’s — only Rule 5 picks are returned that way.
