Mike Lowell’s grand slam in the fifth inning just about sealed the fate of the Baltimore Orioles who dropped another road contest at Fenway Park losing 9-2.
Lowell’s 10th home run of the season put Boston ahead 5-1 and they never looked back scoring two more in the seventh inning on a two-run home run by Kevin Youkilis and another two-run by J.D. Drew in the eighth inning.
Jon Lester improved his record to 5-3 on the season lasting 7 innings, on seven hits, two runs which were all earned, one walk, and three strikeouts.
