GAME NOTES: Headin out to the park so I’ll just say this: I hate Daniel Cabrera with a passion and I want him done by the fourth inning. That is all.

I second the hatred for Daniel Cabrera. Only I want him done by the third, preferably as a result of a Pedroia comebacker into his…ok, ok, that’s probably uncalled for.
Anyhow, here are the lineups for the finale:
    Baltimore Orioles
    1. Brian Roberts, 2B
    2. Adam Jones, CF
    3. Nick Markakis, RF
    4. Aubrey Huff, 1B
    5. Melvin Mora, 3B
    6. Luke Scott, Dh
    7. Jay Payton, LF
    8. Guillermo Quiroz, C
    9. Freddie Bynum, SS
    Daniel Cabrera, SP
    Boston Red Sox
    1. Jacoby Ellsbury, CF
    2. Dustin Pedroia, 2B
    3. J.D. Drew, RF
    4. Manny Ramirez, LF
    5. Mike Lowell, DH
    6. Kevin Youkilis, 3B
    7. Sean Casey, 1B
    8. Jason Varitek, C
    9. Alex Cora, SS
    Daisuke Matsuzaka, SP

I don’t want to jinx it, but it looks like JD might be heating up again. Great job going the other way on a fastball on the outside edge.

Andy Pettitte is losing to the Blue Jays, in spite of the fact that Toronto’s lineup looks like something a pack of monkeys put together. Joe Inglett leading off; David Eckstein DH’ing; Rod Barajas batting cleanup. From top to bottom, you’d think Cito Gaston had decided to field the worst possible lineup. So, of course, Marco Scutaro hits a 3-run dinger, AJ Burnett decides it’s a good day to pitch, and the Jays are up 4-0.

Marco Scutaro is unbelievable against the Yankees.
Cleveland up over Toronto 4-2 now.

I know it’s just small sample size, but i’m not liking this July line from Paps so far. A ton of pitches, a lot of hits, and now 3 runs in less than 5 innings.

At least Pedroia comes in to regulate when Paps cannot. Wee Man for the win.

It was a save Todd Jones would have been proud of! Maybe Paps will turn out to be a starter after all.

In regards to Paps….I actually read in the Herald the other day that he’s throwing less pitches per appearance than the last few years. They didn’t give a break down per month so that could be skewed. But I agree his recent appearances have been a bit concerning with the amount of base-runners he has allowed.

the problem is he throwing too many fastballs, they are all geared up, otherwise there is no way they could touch those 98mphers today, he has given up some hits on his other pitches, but still needs to mix them in oe he just becomes David Aardsma.
