Your logic is sound. Good observation. Does this mean we can finally get beyond Yankees Suck posters, t-shirts, hats, etc. in favor of sayings like Go Sox or Sox Rule? and give guys like Mariano and Jeter the applause they deserve?

Yankees fans are definitely obsessed with Boston now. But their trash talking isn’t that hard to take when “Papelbum, Red Sux and Gerbil” are about the best they can do.

You know what’s really ironic? When the Yankees were good, “Yankees Suck” shirts were EVERYWHERE. Now the Yankees actually do kind of suck and I can’t remember the last time I saw one of those shirts.

DS#4 – wown good point. I haven’t heard Gerbil except at Zim. Who’s Gerbil?
Love how they hate Youk for being another O’Neill.
Its true, though. My “interest” in the Yankees has severely waned this year.

I’ve heard them call Pedroia Gerbil. And to be fair he does kind of look like a Gerbil. They criticize Youk for being like O’Neil. They criticize Papelbon for being like Chamberlain. They criticized Manny for being a primma donna like A-Rod. They just like to complain about the players that beat them.

When Okajima dominated against the Yankees last year they called him “Choke-a-jima”. It’s nothing more than senseless frustration.
