Prev. Gm:

Los Angeles Angels (65-40) @ Boston Red Sox (61-46)
John Lackey (8-2, 3.02) @ Clay Buchholz (2-5, 5.81)

7:05 PM EDT | Fenway Park (Boston, MA)
TV: NESN RADIO: WRKO 680, SBN 1150

GAME NOTES: Looks like the Angels have just acquired Mark Teixeira for Casey Kotchman, and, I assume, a pitcher of some caliber. Why is this significant? The Halos just made themselves the clear-cut favorites to win their second World Series this decade. Countering the Angels tonight is Clay Buchholz, a true test for the struggling young right-hander.

Well it didn’t take Clay long to reach the meltdown.

This isn’t Buchholz’s fault – 2 errors is a defensive meltdown. Clay’s still doing fina, although this doesn’t help his pitch count.

Clay needs a ticket to Pawtucket and STAT. Masterson rarely if ever performed this badly.
Fuck me…I think we might have seen our new AL champs provided something terrible doesn’t happen to them.

With this offense right now…chances are slim for a rally unless it’s late inning.
You better hope it stays 4-0 and not even worse.

Yikes. Lackey’s got a NO-HITTER going through 5 IP on only 54 pitches. Yes, I said NO-HITTER, and I am trying to jinx it.

Another 7 pitch inning for Clay – other than the BIG mistake to Anderson, he’s actually been doing pretty well tonight.

Wow now the good pitching comes back with Oki. Odds of a rally are still low as hell, but maybe Oki could’ve pitched the game instead of Clay. I’d be down with that.

From the looks of it the Papajima show should’ve been pitching the whole game. Instead we get a pseudo-prospect and an offense that didn’t feel like giving a shit tonight.
    Pathetic.
