The outfield isn't entirely white MR: Jacoby is Native American and Crisp is African American. That said, I thought the same thing about how white the team has become. In 2004 the team has a strong latin character now our only hispanic pitcher is Delcarmen and while we have the two japanese players, our only latin everyday hitters are lowell and ortiz. Not throwing any accusations its just interesting to note.

Moshe, I also need to ask you a few questions:
1. Where does your wife work?
2. Where are you going to school?
3. Where in Brookline are you living?
What I can tell you is that you will most likely be taking the Green Line into Boston. The Green Line is perhaps the nicest of the five (Blue, Silver, Red, Green, and Orange) and the cleanest. Also, you can't find a safer line than the Green. All the bad shit you might hear about would be on the Red/Orange Lines late at night. Brookline has the luxury of having the C and D line run through it so you at least have an option.
A monthly T Pass runs you about $59 a month and gives you unlimited access to any line, but I will warn you once you use it there's a 22-minute recharge rate so you can't pass it off to your buddy right after you get through the gate. In terms of reliability the Green Line is a hit or miss. Sometimes it's right on time and not too crowded, other times you're waiting 10+ minutes for one. Also with Red Sox games sometimes it can get a little crowded since the Green Line stops at Kenmore. I own a vehicle but it's for my National Guard drills. Getting a second car to drive into Boston would be an exercise in frustration unless your school is on the outskirts. Also, once again depending where you attend school and where the closest stop is to you the Green Line would get you into Boston in 15-20 minutes.

Moshe I'm actually going to be living in Brookline and have been living in Boston for five years already. I can answer those questions once I get into work.

david - while you are quite correct that arod is a dipshit, i do not remember him talking shit to the yankees fo, holding signs that say trade me fighting with teammates on camera or obviously quittingthe team onthe field. am i right that arod, with all his maddonnaesque baggage, has never dospalyed any of this? alsom ill bet bay can deliver better tha arod in the clutch anyway, since you introduced the comparison.

Colin, thanks a lot. My wife is currently not working anywhere, but she is looking and needs a car for various other things. I will be living on Beacon and will be attending Harvard Law. It sounds like you think a second car is really unnecessary.

I think the greatest value of this trade is that the relic of a red headed step child finally has an all white outfield, all white infield save for Cora, Lugo and maybe Lowell if you squint, and a mostly white starting pitching crew. Hopefully this means the D to the S never writes another word again and the team can just field the best available players without worrying about his run them out of town bullshit.
I'm just hoping Shaughnessy doesn't get a hair about the Canadian dollar being too strong or go on some anti-Semitic jag after S&S cuts him when he grabs a waitresses ass after he's pounded too many Heinekins.

Okay ... sorry if this goes a little long ... but I must respnd to all the talk concerning this trade (and other things) ... too much of which has been done by Faiaz ... but that's beside the point ... I think we are all losing a little focus amidst the hype (panic?) of trading away the (former) greatest right handed hitter of our generation ... Only one queston matters to me ... we need to focus on it now ... What are we trying to do this season? What is our goal? Winning right? Winning another world championship right?
Manny is no longer being Manny ... sure his idiotic off the field antics have been raised to a new level lately ... but he is no longer the consistently driven masher he once was ... his good play on the field was finally swallowed up by his ... well ... Manny-ness ... if you think he was gonna rachet it up and preform like the Manny of old down the stretch you're lying to yourself ... he's just not the player he once was ... his heart wasn't in it ... and the only thing that is gonna save this team right now is heart...

Now, while I'm not necessarily thrilled about this trade ... Jason Bay ... meh ... I think it was time to make this move ... we are 4-8 since the ASB and this team needs to wake up now ... Manny's apparent focus on his own "mental peace" and his lack of focus on winning wasn't helping ... it was time for him to go ... I think free of that distraction ... free of the apathy that Manny was bringing every night ... I think this team has a chance to turn it around ... We still have a fantastic pitching staff and offense ... sure the bullpen is the question mark but they need to suck it up and start preforming ... just like everyone ... if they don't ... well ... we'd be screwed with or without Manny ...
Look ... I just think we need to stop panicking ... stop worrying about what Theo is doing ... stop acting like the season just went down the drain ... just stop giving up already dammit ... believe in this team ... we can win ... we just have to go out and win ... it's as simple as that...
Just win.
