Boston Red Sox (64-48) @ Kansas City Royals (52-60) |
GAME NOTES: More than a few story lines to watch in tonight’s game…
Will Clay Buchholz pitch well enough to give himself a chance at locking down the #5 spot in the rotation? If he lays another egg, do the Red Sox have to consider other options?
Mike Lowell gets the night off (potentially a sight we might need to get used to given his gimpy hip). In his stead, Youk moves over to third and Sean Casey mans first. With Lowell out of the clean up spot, there’s a shake up in the lineup (see comments) with Youk moving to the four spot and J.D. Drew manning the leadoff helm. If Mikey’s out for an extended period of time, are we covered?
Can this team figure out the formula for a road win?

Seriously Rangers…let’s not get stupid.
C’mon Hamilton Mr. 28 HRs in the ASG.
NICE reverse jinx worked.
Thank you Rangers! And in grand style too!
Yesssssssss Rangers
So yeah everyone loses in the AL East, but that only means that no one gains on another either.
We’ll get them next game. Casey…better luck next time. Bay…you’re still good in my book. Clay…pull your head out of your ass.
Marte getting lit-up like a Christmas Tree.
What happened? Gameday hung up on me with 1-0 on Hamilton!
The Sox lost, but the Yankees lost the game AND Joba. I’ll take that.
Stupid gameday – making me miss a grand slam!
I make it a rule not to root for a player to get injured, but considering that Joba has actually tried to murder Youk 3 times, I’ll make an exception. I hope his career unfolds something like Mark Prior’s.
So what exactly happened to Joba the Hutt since I was too fixated on the Red Sox?
