Jon Lester became just the third left-handed pitcher to win at least 10 games for the Red Sox in the past 15 years. Who are the other two?

Frank Viola
no – never mind – there’s that bad math again…
or wait – no – Frank Viola
Just to clarify: Frank Viola, 13 wins in 1993. Final answer.
Now to figure out the other one…
Thats 16 years! =)
I mean 11 wins in 1993. Egad. Not having the best day here…
David Wells?
Steve Avery
Wells and Avery, ding ding
Wow. What a stunning lack of lefties over the years.
Suck it losers, that raised me to .99 points. I’m still in last, but i’m right on like 3 of you.
I’d repressed all memory of David Wells. :(
Fenway is where lefties go to die. Just more proof of how good Lester has been.
And, not to drag this thread out any further (farther?), but it’s why Andy Pettitte should’ve won the Cy in 2005. Pitching as a lefty in Minute Maid, his 2.39 ERA was better than Clemens’ 1.87. The fact that Carpenter won it with a 2.83 is just plain idiotic.
Cy Young voting is never logical. Zito beating Pedro because he had one more win, even though Pedro had a better win pct., era and more Ks, not to mention playing in a hitters park was pretty ridiculous to me too. The voting system is antiquated and useless half the writers have no clue what they’re doing and many of the one who do (Neyer, Law) don’t get votes. I put absolutely no stock in offseason awards anymore.
