Prev. Gm:

Boston Red Sox (66-51) @ Chicago White Sox (65-50)
Josh Beckett (10-8, 4.08) @ John Danks (9-4, 3.21)

8:10 PM EDT | US Cellular Field (Chicago, Illinois)
TV: NESN RADIO: WRKO 680, SBN 1150

GAME NOTES: Josh Beckett looks to string two good starts together and in a game that the blogosphere is starting to coin “must win” around certain circles, it would be a good time for him to regain his status as the Stopper!

And Lowrie doubles home two. Aggressive baserunning, way to go D. Hale. Jacoby drives him home. If Coco gets on, Dustin Pedroia will have one more shot at keeping his road streak going. And Papelbon is ready to close.

Oh not to mention the ZERO errors at short compared to Lugo’s 16 fuck-ups. One less than Betancourt’s 17 in 28 less games…

I still don’t like Coco, especially since we gave up Kelly Shoppach to get him, he doesn’t bring anything to the table except defense and even though he’s great at that he has a noodle arm.

Where’s Sean O to complain about Josh Beckett and tell us all how overpaid Drew is? Just kidding Sean : )

Steve, at current paces Lowrie would have the following numbers at 261. I doubt these numbers will happen. Lowrie is bound to go through some regression, but he does – well you have to say he at least enters the ROY discussion – ahead of Ellsbury, but still behind Longoria.
    At 261 ABs: 25R, 73H, 21 2B, 5 3B, 2 HR, 54 RBI, 48 Ks, 25 BB

Man I hate these White Sox announcers. Thank goodness we don’t have to listen to these guys anymore. Worse than the Rays announcers. Such homers.

Definitely excellent numbers. I feel for the kid because he’s most likely going to get sent back down when our 9 million dollar man comes back to screw everything up.

Definitely, other announcers usually don’t refer to their teams as “we” I detest the White Sox announcers. It’s kinda funny that they’re such homers too, because Hawk Harrelson never played for the White Sox (he did play for the Red Sox in 1967 and 1968 and hit 35 HRs in 68)

Roth, unless Lugo comes back before Sept. 1, Lowrie will stick around (remember Rosters expand)

True that…I think Lowrie won the starting job for next year regardless of how this season plays out.

Have to hand it to Beckett, he was exactly what we needed tonight. And, more importantly, he didn’t let everything go to hell just because he was facing a demoralizing no hitter.
Let’s hope Pennant Race Beckett has arrived and Meathead is left back in ‘06.

You guys realize that that was our first winning road series since… well … I can’t remember our last one. We’re 11-11 since the ASB, 7-3 since Aug 1. Bring on Texas. Time for Zink to shine!
