CORA?????, seriously this is pathetic, Drew out and Tito puts another automatic out in the lineup, why does Tito hates Casey so much? Marcum must thrilled to pitch tonight.

3 automatic outs at the bottom of the lineup and no outfield arms to speak of. It’s going to be a long rest of the season.

Four consecutive automatic outs in the lineup…that ain’t good.
I second the “Where’s Casey?” sentiment, Jc.

I won’t count Ellsbury because he seems to be turning it around. At least he has the potential to get hot and cause havoc. You know what you’re getting in Cora Crisp and Varitek and it isn’t good.

There’s a pretty good chance we get bombed tonight. When a team faces a pitcher 3 times in 2 weeks it’s usually advantage hitters. Add in the fact that this is Paul Byrd, a below average starter and the prospects get worse.

If I’m not mistaken I think that’s his first hit ever off Marcum.

    Bob:
That’s correct. Dustin is now 1-for-12 lifetime against Marcum.
Byrd’s pitches looked like batting practice that inning…I’m surprised Scutaro didn’t get a hit…got some pretty good hacks in there too.

Guess I shouldn’t have gotten excited about two of them reaching in a row when there were two more to follow.

Wow that’s a quick hook with Marcum? I know he’s given up 4 runs, but he was at 80 pitches and it’s the 4th. Wonderif he’s injured…

    Whoa…didn’t exactly see that coming.
Hopefully Byrd can at least deliver a quality start and give the bullpen a 2+ run cushion and 3- innings of work.

Just saw this on Extra Bases, and it gave me a chuckle.
If Pedroia were a Blue Jay, he’d be leading the team in homers with his 13 on the year.

Interesting that Byrd has his strikeout stuff today, but is giving up a lot of hard-hit balls when the batters do make contact.
