Dustin Pedroia capped off the rout of the New York Yankees with a grand slam and Jason Bay clobbered home four runs as the Boston Red Sox took game two of the series against the Bronx Bombers 11-3.
Sidney Ponson suffered the loss on less than 5 innings pitched while Paul Byrd backed up his offense lasting 6 innings on two runs for the win.
Star of the Game: Bay/Pedroia
Both had stellar offensive performances and earn the nod here.
Next Game: Complete the sweep
I mean really that is what we need to do above.

    That performance deserves smiles. :3
Now let’s hope they still have some offense in them to help Lester.
    No guarantees either people…

With the rotation struggling to heal and right itself, it might be safe to say that as Lester and Becket go, so goes the rest of the season. Tomorrow’s game is no longer crucial, as we have already won another road series, but if Lester beat the Yankees, and Beckett wins Friday, the rest of this season will have been clearly defined. We will again be that team to beat. Go Jon.

“Sox loving Byrd’s-eye view of the Bay” HAHAHAHA oh kill me.
    MLB.com headline writers are horrible.

I love seeing those Flickr photos of sad Yankees fans, but maybe the next one shouldn’t be a potentially cute Asian girl on the verge of tears. I might actually start getting compassionate again, something I cannot afford to be this late in the season.

Oh Tim…a man after my own heart. Now I have to go think angry thoughts of Yankees trolls so I don’t feel bad about sad Asian female Yankees fans. Jerk…

All the Byrd puns are really starting to wear on me. I get it, his name sounds like bird.

The Byrd puns will eventually go the way of the Bay puns…lasting I’d say no more than two weeks, three tops.

They may linger longer than that considering we only see him once every 5 games and writers tend to be biased against creativity/ have short memories
