Perhaps this is because I’m also a fan of the Detroit Tigers, but I have become sadly used to seeing my players get injured in absurd, eye-rolling ways. The following episode (episode?) of Terrible Cartoons thus seems perfectly natural to me.
Seven ways Josh Beckett might have actually injured his elbow

1. Bowling.

2. Carrying deer meat up the stairs.

3. Trying to maneuver his enormous necklace mass.

4. Trying to shift Jason Varitek’s binder of game notes.

5. Opening a stubborn can of beans.

6. Wrestling with Kevin Youkilis in the clubhouse.

7. Sleeping on it, as advertised.
We are but lowly fans. WE MAY NEVER KNOW THE TRUTH.
(I vote beans.)

Any good Texan knows that Josh hurt his elbow from lifting too many 12 oz’s. ;)

I hope Beckett sees it. He might even crack a smile.
