Sean . . . you don’t like the Patriots????? The Pats are yet another good guy local doormat team, like the Red Sox, that good management, great players, and never give up attitude have turned into hometown winners? Why the joy over Tom Brady’s injury? Sexy-lips made some kind of sense, but THIS one I don’t understand at all.
‘Tis truly devastating for the Pats to be losing Brady, but as the MVN Patriot blog put it, this is also a true test for Belichick and Company. If they can still succeed without Brady, then Bill’s coaching can be proved to be effective and true.
But alas, at least the NYers cannot completely gloat since their Yanks are in 4th place and the Mets (though I have no beef with them whatsoever) got rocked by Philly.
I root for all the Boston teams except the Patriots. Sad to see a great player like Brady go down with an injury, but I’m not exactly sad that the Pats season isn’t looking so great
Brady is a pathetic little bitch who single-handedly cost us two championships in two years. The Patriots won 3 rings, Brady cost us 2. Being essentially the only factor in the worst loss in NE sports history makes him dead to me.
Ever since that monumental chokefest in the Super Bowl I said I wouldn’t cheer for the Patriots until that jackass retired or got injured, and today my wish was granted. As long as the Colts keep losing, this’ll be a perfect season. Plus, it’ll prove that any quarterback could’ve won a super bowl with this team’s receivers.

Wow despite the seething hatred for Brady Sean, you do make some sense. We have Welker and Moss who are ridiculous players and we managed to win with Cassel, but Brady was also the face of the Patriots and still a superb QB. He and Moss combined for some sensational work and he knew how to react quicker than many QBs out there. Well hopefully the team can continue to succeed without him for now.
He was also the counterbalance to the Manning’s Goofy demeanors/appearances and their bumpkin ways. Granted I love the Red Sox WAY more than I ever will the Pats or Celtics, but it’s still a New England team and this’ll give the damnable NYers something to jeer us about.
Well, if Brady didn’t choke in the super bowl, by actually preparing for the game instead of screwing around with his girlfriend, NY wouldn’t have anything on us at all. Thanks tommy boy.
In that game, he had no plan, no clue, no adjustment, he just wilted under pressure like the Colts game the year prior. The Giants had no part to do with their super bowl victory; even when Randy bleeping Moss was wide open, Brady skied it over his head.
I can only hope he’s done for good, so we can get a quarterback who wants rings instead of magazine covers.
Really Sean? Like I said, I’m not a Pats fan, especially after they gave my home state the shrift, but do you really think that the Pats would have won a single one of those super bowls without Brady? And give the Giants some credit, they came in with a plan and smacked the Pats in the mouth until they couldn’t take it. Sometimes certain things are just meant to happen, the Giants winning was one of them.
Bob, he’s a #()*#$ing professional football player who won the MVP award, and he can’t hit Randy Moss wide open? And in the last minute of the game, he can’t see Stallworth wide open for the entire “drive”, instead throwing to Moss when he’s double and triple covered?
Who knows what would’ve happened in the first three, but ever since that final interception vs. the Eagles he’s been useless. He’s always been too much of a chickenshit to take a hit, and now everyone knows the deal. Put even slight pressure on him, and he turns into Jello.
This is a blessing for Pats fans. The season will be harder, but we have a chance at a ring. We’re not winning with Brady, because he doesn’t care anymore. Good riddance.

Changing the conversation, did anyone else catch Entourage tonight? Am I the only one who thinks that show has gone WAY downhill lately? I don’t care about their contract negotiations, I just wish they would go back to buying shit and sleeping with hot chicks and stop trying to challenge themselves. I also saw the new vampire show on HBO, I thought it took itself way too seriously, not surprising since the same guy who wrote Six Feet Under did it.
Not to rain on the Patriot love fest conversation but has anyone else besides me noticed that Crisp is batting .284 and playing great baseball? Not to say that there are other outfielders on our roster that belong in the starting lineup but what do you think about playing Crisps hot play out? It cant hurt us as a whole but may have an impact on others (such as those who will not play and maybe have timing at the plate thrown off).
Since Coco arrived he has been incredible on defense, and excellent on the bases, even better than advertised. He also came to the Sox as an above average bat, a skill which soon evaporated. The Coco of the past couple of weeks is the Coco-hitter the Sox traded for, and Tito has been smart enough to keep his bat in the game during the road trip, largely swapping out Kotsay and Ellsbury. Let’s hope he can continue during the stretch run.

Cost us two championships, my ass. If Caldwell or Brown could catch, or if the defense could make a tackle, they beat the Colts. That’s not Brady’s fault. If the refs don’t make 3 horrendous calls against the Patriots leading directly to 21 Broncos points, they win that game; that’s not Brady’s fault. If the offensive line had protected at ALL in the Super Bowl, or if Asante Samuel could hang on to the football, they would have won. Brady isn’t responsible for any of that.
Brady IS singlehandedly responsible for leading this franchise into the elite of the league, making them a perrenial Championship contender, and making them the team of the decade.
You are out of your fucking mind if you think “Brady Doesn’t Care”. Have you been watching? Did you see Belichick’s face at the press conference today?
