Devern Hansack sent to Boston

Devern Hansack was recalled from Triple-A Pawtucket today. It’ll be his season debut; he’s also been up the last two years with the Sox. This year he’s 6-10 with a 4.08 ERA in 25 starts for Pawtucket. Bartolo Colon was removed from the 60-day DL and Marcus McBeth, recently claimed from the Cincinatti Reds, was designated for assignment to make room for Colon on the 40-man roster.

Hansack started game 2 of the Pawsox playoff series on 9/4 and his line was:

6ip, 0 hits, 1 run, 2 walks, 8 strikeouts

I declare him master of the pseudo no-hitter when you consider his rain shortened no-hit bid against the Orioles.. He was on a pitch limit so they took him out after 6.

He returned from the DL not too long ago. Glad they aren't over using him, and glad they brought him up. He is fun to watch, and he loves the game. He is a starter who spent winter ball learning how to be a reliever.

Can't wait to see if Colon pitches in the double header.
