BOS 7, TEX 2: Sox win behind Byrd
Paul Byrd 6 2/3's only giving up three hits and two runs in Boston's 7-2 win over Texas.
Boston is 1 1/2 games back behind the Rays who they play in a three game set starting Monday.
Star of the Game: Byrd
Byrd stymied the Rangers in a game where the Sox needed a win going into the Tampa series.
Next Game: Rays
We can retake the lead in the division.  Let's do it.

Crunch Time! After three games at home we will have some answers as to who is the division champion, it's as simple as that.

To me, the key to the series is to win Game 1 with Lester on the hill going against Jackson. Keep the losing streak going and increase the pressure on the Rays. We will see what they are made of. I've heard all year the Rays wont be able handle the pressure of pennant chase in Sept. We will find out very soon.

Wow, despite Brady's downing the gods of sports might be smiling on Boston right now. No matter what the situation is the Sox always manage to come out in good standing. Papi goes down? Drew answers. Manny gets traded? Bay answers. Youkilis gets sick? Pedroia fucks shit up.
Not to go off on a tangent, but in relation to Brady and the Pats, when people say coaches should take notes from Belichick I think they should take notes from Francona. Sure we question Terry's moves but they always seem to work out ever so well. When Belichick shits the bed it's on a colossal scale, when Terry does it it usually means out of the playoffs for at least one year. In Terry I trust.
