Wakefield outpitched Lee. Is this a prelude to hitting all the great pitchers in the playoffs? Sounds good.
Wake turns in performances like this far too often for any of us to be surprised. He was a mainstay for most of the year.
Ells keeps his streak going. Pedroia, Papi, Youk, Bay look well tuned. Why didn’t Carter PH for Cash in the 8th??? At least we will get a chance to see some more of Bailey, Van Every, Carter, Hansack, Pauley as those few starters who remain healthy get a well deserved rest. It feels good to exhale.

So we couldn’t win with Beckett against Zach Jackson, but we pinned loss #3 on Cliff Lee with Wake on the mound. Whatever.
