The previous poll asked: Where will the Red Sox be traveling next?
- Tampa Bay for Game 1
86% of all votes
- Tampa Bay for Game 1
8% of all vote
- Anaheim for Game 5
6% of all vote
Everyone felt pretty confident that Lester would lead us to the ALCS instead of back to Anaheim for a game 5.
Now onto the next poll question:
Who was the 2008 ALDS MVP?
- Jon Lester
- Jonathan Papelbon
- Jason Bay
- J.D. Drew
- Jacoby Ellsbury
Wow…that’s alot of “J”s.
Be sure to go vote and then comment here to make your voice heard!

to further the cause of the “J” squad…you could add Justin Masterson and Jed Lowrie to the mix
Hmmmmm…this one is tough, but I’m going to have to give it to Bay because he not only nailed the winning HR in Game 1 and drilled the 3-run HR in Game 2, but he scored the winning run in Game 4 thanks to a double and then Jed stepping in.
Lester comes in a very close second.
Tough one. I’m going to go Bay here even though all are deserving. My logic is that that the rest should remain eligible for MVP consideration in the next round (at least). Bay has been such a pleasant surprise, and his performance was amazing when it mattered. Again, all were awesome, but scoring the winning run in his first playoff series should get the Bay a nod.
Had to go with our true Ace, Lester: 0 ER in 14 IP, WHIP @ 0.93, 11 Ks.
Wow. Just wow.
Jon Lester. no doubt.
Totally off topic: Rte 38 in Tewksbury, a tiny shack called French’s, AMAZING soups.
Check it out. The Angels can’t have http://www.angels.com says Lee Dongyeon of the R.O.K.
Thanks Korea for having Boston’s back by not only denying these poor sports, but having the first thing I see a beautiful Korean woman. Well played.
I bet underachievingwhinerswhogotknockedoutoftheplayoffsbytheredsoxagain.com is still available!
jeter…
Wow reading all these Angels blogs really gives them the vibe of sour grapes.
Seriously LA, you lost. Chill brah.
As I said before my vote is for Bay, without a doubt.
Lester has been great. We owe him two wins. But, as I see it, we owe Bay three. His contribution has been crucial to the three games we have win.
Without him, we could have been sweeped…
And there’s the rub. Without Bay we would not be going to Tampa. But the exact same can be said for Lester, Ellsbury, Papelbon, Drew, Youkilis and even the bats and D of Lowrie, Kotsay, Cora, Tek, Pedroia’s D, and Tek’s outstanding game calling.
What we have heah, is a failure to pick a superstar, because these Red Sox are now playing just the way Tampa plays . . . like a team which, I believe, is the only way to beat them. My vote: there was no MVP, because everyone pulled their weight, together.
