They showed me something. We still might be beaten, but this Red Sox team has balls too. Both in 2004 and 2007, we had to prove that we had 'em. We might not win it all this year, but we had a set. That's worth something to me. Nothing worse than seeing a good team roll over and die in the postseason.

If we win it all, give Manny the option to buy a ring for $20 million.

Although I did not want to see the Dodgers in the Series, whether or not the Sox make it or not, there was an interesting sub-plot that I didn't here mentioned anywhere...in 2004 when we traded Nomar mid-season and went on to win the World Series Nomar ended up getting a World Series ring for his contributions, despite not being in the organization at the time of the WS win. Others, who have made meager regular season contributions and were not on the post-season roster have also received rings in '04 and '07.
I think it would have been interesting if the Sox defeated the Dodgers in the World Series, you would have to award Manny a ring based on his contributions (which were much, much larger then others who have received rings in '04 and '07), right? Kind of interesting if his team lost in the World Series and he still got a ring, not sure if that situation has ever come up before.

I like the pitching next year. Amazing the number of high-quality (and mid-quality) arms the Red Sox have been able to produce in recent years. If we sign a free agent and use our young pitching to get a catcher, great. If we stick with our young guns, so much the better.
Other than that, I have nothing to say. If the Sox have any life left in them this season, they'll have to prove it. I'm from Rhode Island: you'll have to show me.

I usually bet on Daisuke, and I've won 19x this season.
After Wednesday's cooling off period, a momentum shift with the magic man on the mound is entirely possible. Wouldn't that be something?!? If not, after a very good year despite big time injuries, it's time to start reloading for 2009 in what will be a brutal AL East.
