Mills, Hale don’t get Mariners job

Brad Mills and DeMarlo Hale will have to wait for another team. The Seattle Mariners will announce Athletics bench coach Don Wakamatsu as their new manager.

While we’re here, what about John Farrell declining to interview with the Seattle Mariners? Have the Sox given him a handshake deal that he will succeed Terry Francona as manager?

AL MVP revealed: It’s Dustin Pedroia!

Written on November 18th, 2008 by Evan Brunell367432 Commentshttp://firebrandal.com/2008/11/18/al-mvp-revealed-its-dustin-pedroia.htmlAL+MVP+revealed%3A+It%27s+Dustin+Pedroia%212008-11-18+17%3A32%3A42Evan+Brunell

Dustin Pedroia has been named the 2008 American League MVP after being a force in every aspect of the game. His ferocious hitting, determined fielding and high character spurned Boston to within one game of the World Series.

Pedroia, 24, arguably had a better year than his Rookie of the Year campaign in 2007. He hit .326/.376/.493 with 17 HR, 118 R and 83 RBI in 653 at-bats.
