Hat tip to Jere:

So, yeah, I think that’s the deal: the gray [below] is the new road uni,
and the blue above that is the new alt road. And the hat is the blue
one with the Sox and the red button on top
.

I have to see it in person, but my knee-jerk reaction is that I like it, because I always thought the red didn’t mesh well with the gray.

No more seas of red at opposing parks?? That’s fairly dissapointing.
They’re going to wear that blue hat with the grey jersey too?? A grey hat with a black B would be old-school cool.
Doesn’t look they brought in Queer Eye for the Straight Guy on this one.

The Red Sox hit the rewind button on this one. Like you I will need to see it before I really pass judgment on it, but sadly I think this change is only about making the fans spend a few more dollars on new jerseys.

The red-on-blue alternate is o.k., but the black-on-gray new road uni looks like one of those horrid unlicensed knock-offs. That one looks like it was described over a bad phone line to a second-rate factory in Guangdong province.

These are aren’t a disaster, but they don’t blow me away, either. I didn’t see a need to change uniforms at all — except, as Brandon says, the marketing department needed a way to dig deeper into our pockets.

Love the road grays with the dark lettering. Clean and classy look. Can live with the hanging Sox logo on the hat. Offers up a different and fun look. Not a fan of the solid color shirts (red or blue) and never have been. All and all I’m fine with it. Hey, anything that has Steve Back To The Past Buckley whining like a two year must have has some redeeming qualities. Nice job Sox!!

Totall agree, Nick, on the solid color shirts. They are for ST and Little League. Keep the classic look, any variation thereof.

I like the road alternate, but not the new gray one. To me it looks very plain and boring. Of course I was a fan of the old gray away jerseys, so I might be biased.

Does this mean all of the old style jersey’s go on clearance for x-mas? :)

AWESOME! Was hoping they would go retro with the away jerseys, the biggest difference being the Blue lettering. It just reminds me of that Dewey, Gator, burks, boggs, Barrett etc. team I grew up with. Thatteam had red sox and black/darknavy stirrups, I wonder what these will have? I’m not a fan of the solid color jersey’s but i like the navy much better than the tomato.
