The World Baseball Classic strikes again. First, Dustin Pedroia gets sent home and now news out of ESPN.com has Kevin Youkilis heading to Fort Myers for an MRI on his ankle.
“Johnson said the injury happened three or four days ago, and that Johnson noticed Youkilis was in pain during Team USA’s 6-5 comeback win over Puerto Rico.
Teammate Brad Ziegler said Youkilis was in such pain that after the game he could barely walk through the training room.”

I really don’t think this is a big deal. I may be in major denial though
With Pedroia you go off the deep end…and with Youk you have no concern?
I agree…sounds like a simple ankle sprain.
Tough Spring even without WBC . . . Kotsay, Penny, Lugo, Pedroia, now Youk. Did you notice how many Red Sox players are in the WBC (18?) vs. say, the Rays (Aki?).
Is it just me or are the US players getting hurt more than everyone else? Is everyone just not reporting injuries to other players?
You sure we had 18? That sounds awful high. Bay, Youk, Pede, Dice-K, Papi….who are the other 13?
