Angels would be so much better if they just benched GMJ, period, and brought in a mashing SS.
Morales is primed for a breakout year… but man, that offense is full of either solid players or young players who have yet to break out. No one to build around.

Lineup change for the Halos. It’ll be Maicer Izturis batting 9th and playing shortstop, instead of Erick Aybar.

I don’t know why I’m watching this – you can always count on Wakefield to prolong a losing streak.

once again the offense continues to be pathetic, they’re starting to look a lot like the Yankees did last year

If Ellsbury doesn’t turn things around in the next week, I really think Tito needs to bump him down to the 9th spot in the lineup.

Bad luck, and bad swings. That’s not a good recipe for scoring runs.

I’m really glad Weaver is gone. The Sox hitters may be slumping, but he looked awesome tonight.

Fer God’s sake, Joe West…give ‘em a break one of these days. Lowrie’s been awful from the left side, but…that was not a strike.

The only good thing I remember Joe West ever doing for the Sox was calling the balls and strikes for Buchholz’s no-hitter. The bender to Markakis for a called third strike to end it sticks out.

Arredondo routinely gets more calls then any other reliever I have ever seen. He’s way more wild than his numbers bear out

The thing that ticks me off is Pedey hits an absolute rocket and gets robbed of a double. Meanwhile, Guerrero gets a hit on a massive swinging bunt, and Mathis pokes a grounder that would’ve been a double-play ball if it were a foot to either side for a hit that scores two runs.
    This one’s over.
Come back tomorrow and whack the sh*t out of Shane Loux to get Penny a ‘W’ in his Sox debut.

Jason Bay is starting to remind me of those NBA players you see come to town for teams you don’t really know Toronto, OKC, Memphis. You got to the game, pick up the program, and go “Wow this ____ guy is averaging 18 a night. That’s pretty good.” Then you watch and go “eh, he’s OK?” Someone has to play minutes and score I guess, but the #s are not that meaningful. He’ll have his 20 HRs+ and 85+ RBIs I guess, but I feel myself going “Eh, he’s OK?”

I know that a lot of guys will probably turn things around, but as of right now, the lineup is…
    1. Ellsbury — Looks like he has 3 different swings, and none of them work.
    2. Pedroia — Hitting rockets, with a few too many going right at guys.
    3. Ortiz — Seems to have lost some of the pop from his bat, and looks clueless far too often.
    4. Youkilis — Probably the best hitter on the team right now.
    5. Drew — When he’s hot, he’s HOT, but when he’s cold, he’s COLD. Right now, he’s FRIGID.
    6. Bay — Looks absolutely pathetic anytime he sees a changeup.
    7. Lowell — Running slow enough to potentially become a victim of the ever-so-rare 7-3 groundout.
    8. Lowrie — Might be better off just hitting right-handed because he looks awful from the left side.
    9. Varitek — Wait, is Jason Varitek leading the team in homeruns? Unfortunately, those two taters are also his only hits.
I just realized the Sox don’t get to tee-off on Shane Loux any more because of the cancellation of the game against Oakland due to the Adenhart tragedy. Now they get Saunders…and he’s 4-0 with a 2.89 ERA lifetime against the Sox.
I smell a no-no tomorrow. Please prove me wrong.

Not alot to cheer about in just four games, but on the other hand:
    1. Ellsbury did go 2-4, and has stolen 2 bases. That’s a start.
    2. Youk is leading the league in BA . . . so those who are still predicting regression, swoons and doom, don’t count it.
    3. Jason Veritek is hammering the ball, quality at bats right to the fielders . . . and he has 2HR in 3 games . . . using a simplified, good looking swing.
    4. Lowrie’s hot bat went cold, and will be back, but his defense has been outstanding. When he puts it together, he will be some SS.
    5. In 5.2IP, Papelbon, Delcarmen and RRamirez have a combined ERA of 0.00.
    6. Kottaras got a hit in his first MLB start, and looked quietly competent behind the plate. He deserves a good look.
    7. Jason Bay has had his usual key hits, and has a .438OBP, but more importantly, his defense has been much better than advertised.
    8. Penny & Beckett start the next two games, the bullpen is rested, the Sox are due to break out on this road trip, then come home and settle in.
    9. We already knew this was going to be a long, tough grind. It just started a little early, that’s all.
    8. Lowell has never been fast on the bases, and is slower now, but it hasn’t effect his GG 3b defense, and he too has hammered the ball right into the gloves of fielders. He’s back.
    9.
