Prev. Gm:

Tampa Bay Rays (14-17) @ Boston Red Sox (19-11)
Scott Kazmir (3-3, 6.00) v. Jon Lester (2-2, 5.10)
3:40 PM EDT | Fenway Park (Boston, MA)
TV: FOX RADIO: WEEI 850, SBN 1150

GAME NOTES
: Kid Kaz has owned the Red Sox at Fenway Park over the course of his career.  Yet despite the 2.88 ERA and 72 strike outs in 68.2 innings pitched, Kazmir is still only a game above .500 against the Sox at Fenway (5-4).  Truth be told, this hasn’t been the same Scott Kazmir that we’ve been used to seeing.  He’s averaging a career low 7.6 K/9 and his average fastball velocity has dipped below 90 MPH for the first time in his career.  Let’s hope Fenway Park doesn’t bring out the best in him.  We know it does of his opponent.

I can’t tell which I’m most sick of – the Rays or the LOBs.

Definitely leaning toward the Rays right now.

Of all the players in MLB rosters, Lugo is truly the ONLY ONE that doesn’t belong. Can’t hit, can’t run(quad, knee injuries), can’t field(0 range). What a joke.

Rays or LOBs? That’s easy. Rays in a blowout (literally today). It’s gonna be a long race against these guys. Last season it was kinda cool to see them do so well after sucking for so long. But they’ve crushed us so many times now I just can’t stand the sight of them.

    HRs: Lugo (1), Papi (0)
What kind of world do we live in?

    Marcos -
You target Wakefield, and he’s off to a career year. You call Lugo a joke, and he hits a home run in his next AB. Maybe you should start trashing Ortiz to get him going, then get started on Lester. Couldn’t hurt, could it? ;-)

I also expressed my thoughts on Walsuzaka and nearly blew out his shoulder. Hopefully tears his hammy and quad and is out for the rest of the season and half of next season. That would make my year. The only MLB 0 tool player. So why is he playing MLB?

Oh yeah, its because of his economical contract.

Jon Lester is a shadow of the pitcher he was last season. Don’t know what the problem is but there is one.
One thing has become quite clear with this pitching staff. The bullpen desperately needs Justin Masterson to return to his longman status. These starters (including Masterson as a starter) are not going long enough in games and they’re going to burn out this bully. Time to call up Clay or Mike Bowden and put Justin back in the pen.

I like jon Lestes, but he never really fixed his main problem from his 1st season. He’s too wild at times. Are you need to baseball? Masterson is too talented to be a long man. He’s a set up man when not starting. But since our bullpen is so good he behind DelCarmen and Ramirez. They should make Lugo the long man. He’d probably do better than Lopez. Well not really. Not because he isn’t a pitcher but he sucks at everything he does, that’s his thing he’s an expert at being terrible.
