Why isn’t Ramirez our closer? Papelbon has had *1* good outing this entire season, and he just cost us yet another easy win.
I’ve been trying to be relaxed about this club, but these idiotic errors and garbage like Lugo and (i’m sorry to say it) Ortiz are killing us. We cannot compete in this division with an ineffective Papelbon, no shortstop, no leadoff/CFer, and no starting pitching.

How can Pimplebutt get swinging Ks on Wright and Reed and then give up a blast to Omir Sucking Fantos?

I’ve had my Papel-worries too…but come on Sean O, Paps has “failed” once this season. No need to jump on him that hard.

“We cannot compete in this division…” but if they win this one, the Sox will be in first place…

Well, Sean O. At least tonight the starting pitching has not being the problem. Beckett is returning to form.

Tim- We all know what kind of season Papelbon has had. When you put two runners on in important situations, it’s only a matter of time. A 1.3 WHIP is not getting it done as a top-level closer. He’s been getting lucky.
We’re in 2nd because the Yankees have been injured and the Rays have bene completely ineffective. We can’t keep losing stupid games like this if we wish to remain where we are.

But we need a new bat. We have zero production from the third hole. Time to think seriously in our future DH.

I can’t remember being this annoyed by a loss in a long long time. We should’ve had it, and Papelbon just keeps chucking fastballs in until they’re crushed. I was hoping the Tuesday game was a turning point for his season, but apparently not.

Fucking embarrassing losing to a bunch of chokers. A couple of weeks ago I said I that I trusted saito more than papelbon. Yea he throw slower but at least he keeps hitters off balance because he breaking ball. I predicted this blown save except I thought sheffield was going to hit it out. What the hell did he expect omir fucking santos was in the club house watching videos of the other at bat and he saw that all this fucker was throwing was fastballs. And what does he do? Sit on a fucking fastball. And I don’t hear want this shit about trading for that chump david wright. Him and the mets are a bunch of losers that don’t how to win when it counts, september.

It is only one game,it’s true Papelbon has been somewhat shaky this season but until tonight it had not hurt the SOX, He is still one of the games top closers.
