Jon Lester looks to continue the great pitching. In 20 of the past 21 games, Red Sox pitching has allowed five runs or less. And the one time they did allow more than five, it was only six runs. The pitching has been really great, the bullpen and the starters combined. Continue the trend, Lester.

He did Joe! and in a big way! The two-headed monster of a rotation is back, watch out AL east!
Oh and Papi is looking better and better!
What a quick turnaround. That was a significantly good road trip for Beckett, Lester, Daisuke, Wake, Penny, Ellsbury, Ortiz, Lowell, Drew, Oki, MDC and several others. We went from slow start to 3rd gear in a few weeks. I think Lester and Beckett will both try for no-no’s next time out. They know it is possible, and they are competing. Now, if Daisuke can throw 7 strong innings tomorrow so we can win this series.
This is really the first time since opening week that I’ve been truly excited about our potential success this season. We all knew how good we could be if Beckett/Lester started rolling. But I honestly never thought it would happen considering the way they have been pitching this season. Now, with their back to back gems, I can’t help but get psyched. We’ll have to see if these first signs of dominance can build into more consistent success. Let’s hope.
