Lester certainly isn’t hitting his spots, but I don’t think this ump (Scott Barry) has called a single strike below the belt.
The stars were not aligned for the Sox tonight, at all. Lost a game to the Jays, and missed a chance to gain on the Yanks and Rays. Lester didn’t deserve that loss. Nolasco deserved the W. Hopefully, this will give the Marlins momentum heading into Yankee Stadium Two.
Even though we didn’t get my favorite reliever, Huston Street, he got another save against the Rays tonight, so he is helping the cause anyway. Thank you Mr. Street. Wish you were here.
I’m actually glad they called this one after five. The way Nolasco was pitching, I don’t think the odds of the Sox coming back were especially great, and this way, the bullpen is rested for the weekend series against the Braves.
That could be big with Dice-K on the hill in the opener.
