Huge news in Red Sox nation. Dave Magadan has been suspended for one game.

Because it impacts everyone so much, hitters will probably see an average of 3 pitches per plate appearance, and fall into the “Jeff Franceour school of hitting.”  ;)

But really, I’ve meaning to praise Magadan for what he (seemingly) does.  And that is to help ensure that each and every hitter has a plan when they step to the plate.

And that’s something that is very, very important…

Yankee Bob strikes again. Time for an impartial AL commissioner instead of a toadie like Watson. Magadon did nothing to deserve any kind of suspension and if the umpires thought arguing balls and strikes was offensive, they would have tossed him like they did. Suspending him is preposterous. How about suspending that head hunter Chamberlain for throwing at batter’s heads on a routine basis?

Props to Magadan for being the one to take the blow, instead of leaving the players to fend for themselves. Much rather have the hitting coach out of the dugout for a game, than have a key offensive contributor out of the lineup.
