well as much as I hate to admit it because I’ve been one of his big boosters, it’s time to move smoltz to the pen. he’s just not getting it done

Well, hello there, offense. Good to see you again. Where were you?

Did John Smoltz do something to anger his bullpen?

I swear, sometimes I think MDC and Masterson are having a contest to see who can suck the most.

And, uh, what’s the record for most 9-run leads blown before the ASB?

Actually they are. I’m surprised you didn’t read about this

Okajima’s in on it, too, it seems. From a nine-run lead to tying run at the plate in two-plus innings. Holy crap, I have zero confidence in this ‘pen.

Gotta be pretty happy with Bard, especially after Disasterson, MDC, AND Oki all crapped their pants.

I still prefer pitchers duels, but this game tonight was more fun. How good is it that Smoltz did so well and Saito was able to retire the side in order in a downpour.
TC’s comment of the month about how weird this game was “after the torrential rain, what’s next, locusts?”
Just can’t resist this. Those who were not too long ago saying that Papi is done, Saito is done, Smoltz was a mistake, Green isn’t MLB caliber, Baldelli was a mistake, Tek is done, Wake is done, Youk can’t compare to Teix, Drew was a mistake, Pedroia isn’t an All-Star/MVP etc. . . . are you the same ones who keep saying trade Buchholz and Bard, Mike is done, Daisuke was a mistake, Lowrie won’t cut it? Be amazed.
First place. Rotation is heating up. Pen has 4 days to rest up. Mike and Lowrie coming back. Lineup heating up. Love this team.
