Jonathan Papelbon has not been a sure thing for the Boston Red Sox this season.
Papelbon gave up three runs in the top of the ninth and the Oakland Athletics collected 21 hits to come-from-behind to beat the Red Sox last night.
Boston scored three runs in the fifth inning but couldn’t hold onto the lead. Adam Kennedy led the A’s offense going 5-for-7 on the night with three RBI.
Goat of the Game – Papelbon
Paps got rocked around in the top of the ninth against the A’s for his third blown save of the season.
Next Game – 7/29 vs. Oakland Athletics – Brett Anderson/Brad Penny
Last time Anderson was at Fenwway he pitched a complete game two-hit shutout with nine strikeouts.

Passing a kidney stone was easier than stomaching this game.
Tito needs to sit down with everyone and cut the bullshit. Honestly. I’m tired of the pen screwing up a powerful lead esp. over a team like Oakland. This nonsense is why the Yanks are #1 right now.
