GAME NOTES: Buchholz has suddenly fashioned himself into a very solid No. 3. The key here is if Buchholz can keep it up amidst increasing pressure as October nears. Price has been a disaster on the road but kills it at home. It’ll be up to Buchholz to match zeros.

Seems like whenever the Sox win, the comments on this site are few and far between. When they lose, the comments are plentiful.
Well, here goes. Tropicana Field has been a very tough place to play for any road team this year, the Sox included. To win two out of three — and to suffer the only loss when your ace is on the mound — was a tremendous accomplishment. More so, given the circumstances: the Rays battling to stay in the playoff hunt, the Sox trying to kill their chances.
The Sox went a long way toward killing said chances, and kept the Rangers at bay. This series could have been trouble; instead, it was a big step toward securing the wild card. Color me satisfied.
And it was another big win for Buchholz, who is looking better all the time.

Looks like all we need is one win next week in Boston vs. the Rays and their season is over. They have a murderous schedule coming up: Detroit, NYY, then back to Boston. They have 3 games against Texas where they can make up some ground, but at the very end of their season, 3 against the Yankees.
The Rangers get to feed on crappy teams for the rest of the month, save the Rays series and a few LAA games. This will be interesting.
