Paul Byrd goes against Freddy Garcia; two pitchers both returning from the dead. Garcia held the Yankees to three runs in six innings last time out, so he may be rounding into form. The ChiSox certainly aren’t; they’re collapsing. A sweep would be nice; I still haven’t given up hope for the division title.

I’m getting more than a little tired of the retread parade through the rotation.

Oh, and another thing: can Fire Brand please stop using the word “sweep” in the game threads? It just always seems to backfire. Thanks.

So, how’s everyone else doing tonight? I figure everyone else turned the game off by the third, so what else have folks been doing?

I hate Paul Byrd so much. In fact he personifies everything I dislike, he’s a preachy, hypocritical bible-thumping ass-wipe who just looks like a creep and not only that, he submarines my favorite team. so honestly F%^$%K you Paul Byrd.

one more thing, Garcia exactly the type of guy the Sox should have been in on for these low cost potential signings, he has a history of sucess in the AL (ie the big boy league) and was a reliable pitcher up until injury. Instead we signed a bunch of NL (ie major league lite) retreads.

The Sox had Freddie in their sights, went out to see him pitch, talked $$ with him, and he didn’t seem to have it until the last couple of starts.
In fact, Theo should have signed Cliff Lee when he signed V-Mart. THAT would have been something. But Beckett, Lester, Buchholz, a healthy Daisuke and/or Wake, plus Bowden & Tazawa are still looking good.
