This year we have Stephen Drew and Shane Victorino with Ellsbury as an outside chance.
Carlos Guillen, Carl Crawford, Jimmy Rollins and Jack Wilson all pulled it off in ‘04 though beltran was the most impressive near miss at 9 3b and 38 hr.
Suzuki, Sizemore and Furcal all pulled it off in ‘05, joining some fo the heroes already mentioned. Reyes has done it in 06, 07 and 08.
My bad guys I meant in a Red Sox uni.
Kind of thought so, given the “15″ but thought I’d give it a go anyway. Dorking on having time to answer a question for the first time in a while. TD will have all 15 for you by the time I post this.
Williams in ‘39 an ‘40.
Tris Speaker, Johnny Damon….hmmm…
Nomar’s gotta be on that list
Alright, so between guesses and reorganizing things on Baseball Reference, I’ve got…
1. Tris Speaker
2. Johnny Damon
3. Nomar Garciaparra
4. Babe Ruth
5. Jim Rice
6. Lou Clinton (who?)
7. Jake Stahl (again…who?)
8. Bobby Doerr
I’m far too lazy to dig any deeper.
Ah, what the heck, one more: I’m guessing Jimmie Foxx did it somewhere along the line.
(And now I’m completely distracted from what I’m actually supposed to be doing during my internship at NESN.)
All these naes are right. So we have five more left!
Got two more…Joe Harris and Phil Todt in the 1920s.
Ii’m thinking we need some old timers when triples were more common.
Here are 3 names that haven’t been mentioned yet:
Jimmy Collins
Buck Freeman
Harry Hooper
… and Jackie Jensen
Jackie Jensen and Buck Freeman seem to be right, I don’t believe Hooper or Collins are.
If so, and assuming that Joe Harris and Phil Todt are right, there should be 1 left.
Rathman got Harris and Todt.
Rice4HOF got Jensen, Freeman.
So yes, one left. Ironically, the last person to squeak onto the list.
