Commiserating after a loss

I'll be back with more Saturday morning, guys, but I'm throwing up this thread so we can all drown our sorrows. You probably don't need to hear this again, but Boston is now down 0-2 to the Angels, with the series shifting to Fenway. Is there more Red Sox magic to be had, or is Boston down for the count?

I’ll be back with more Saturday morning, guys, but I’m throwing up this thread so we can all drown our sorrows. You probably don’t need to hear this again, but Boston is now down 0-2 to the Angels, with the series shifting to Fenway. Is there more Red Sox magic to be had, or is Boston down for the count?

Born on the 37th anniversary of the the day Babe Ruth died (1985) which later became the day Jimy Williams was fired in 2001, I was too young to experience the pain 1986 brought, but a deep wound was sowed in 2003. 2004 covered that wound up, and more. I am a guardedly optimistic Red Sox fan. Red Sox fans are by nature, quite pessimistic, so I do my best to stay positive but there are times where I fall into the deep, black hole of being a Red Sox fan. Stepped down as regular contributor in Feb. 2010, currently serves as editor and writer emeritus.

Are they pitching ridiculous or are we not hitting? I’m worried cause I’m not seeing the fire.

lol. I'm throwing up a lot more than thread. Now, if Clay Buchholz can pitch a gem and outpitch Kazimir, then game 4 belongs to Daisuke who seems primed to pitch a gem too. Can someone besides Ellsbury, Victor & Gonzo get some hits? And it was frustrating, when listening to Buck & Don talk about errors from 3b & SS without clearly stating that, on the replays, they were clearly outs and therefore not errors … which tells me the league informed them they were NOT to embare-ass the umpires. Including the incredibly bad call on Mauer tonight that could have won the game early. Kindly remember the Twins got game changing bad calls on Wed, too. Despite some hope springs eternal for this year, I'm thinking about next year and FA Harden & Bedard, and maybe another genuine run at Hanley. That would do it.

I came into this game thinking this was a must win, not just to avoid going down 2-0, but because Kazmir has been so lights out recently. Kaz v. Buchholz, I'm favoring Kaz in this one. But, then again, I liked the Sox in both games. I guess we'll see on Sunday. Maybe its a good thing I didn't cough up the bills to buy those Game Four tickets.

im feeling so awful right now there just seems no chance. Whenever theres a big game the sox just cant hit and CB buckner the home plate ump was awful tonight and really inconsistent just like at 1b last night youkilis has been useless this series and its over in 3.

A win on Sunday and the world will look very different. Let's stay calm.

    We're simply not hitting.

We have not yet begun to fight. The bats come alive at Fenway because they have all season and they have in playoffs past. Kasmir's WHIP in playoff games is 1.71 with a 6.3 BB/9, and 9.1H/9. That's 18 total walks in 25.2 innings. Nothing great. And he hasn't gone deep into any playoff game in his life. It's time to expose that bullpen for what it really is. Buch has great stuff. It's his turn to shine. The Angels are a very good team, but they are beatable. It's time for someone to pay. High noon!! Get the crowd on Kasmir early.
Kassssmirrr… Kassssssssmmmmmir. Ride him like a rented mule.
