ESPNBoston’s Gordon Edes has reported that the Red Sox have hired 61-year-old Bobby Valentine as their next manager. 60 percent of Fire Brand readers that voted in last week’s poll voted for the Sox to hire Valentine, who is more established as a manager and as a name brand than Gene Lamont.
