What Move Do You Want For Christmas?

Fire Brand wants to know what you want the Sox to do for the holidays! Not that we can actually make any of this happen, mind you, but it’s a fun poll question anyway.

How about Gio Gonzalez? The price would be high and one has to wonder if the Sox even have the high profile prospects to make the move. If not Gio, how about signing another starter? Hiroki Kuroda is said to be willing to relocate out east. Roy Oswalt has been tied to the Sox in Rumors, but the 34-year-old is apparently asking for a three-year deal. How about Ryan Madson, the best closer left on the market, to sure up the bullpen?

Apparently the Sox did at least talk to the Marlins about Hanley Ramirez, though a trade seems highly unlikely. Would you want the former Sox prospect to man short over Scutaro for 2012?

None of thee above? ALL of the above? Something else? Head on over to the right sidebar to cast your vote and leave any other suggestions/opinions in the comments.

Happy holidays!

I just saw that as well. Makes sense as long as the asking price is reasonable.

I want Hiroki Kuroda so badly. I have a huge baseball man crush on him.

I'm a Gio fanboy, but I'll pick Madson because the price for Gio is just too much. I'd love Kuroda too.

I'd love to have Gio, but not if the Sox have to part with Kalish, Middlebrooks, and Renaudo. (Which is likely the A's asking price) Especially if we could sign Kuroda and/or Oswalt to short-term deals.

Ramirez is a pipe-dream, and I'm definitely not convinced that he'll stay a competent shortstop long enough to justify the cost of acquiring him.

I know the Sox desperately trying to get into position to reset their luxury tax rate, but my dream scenario would be getting Kuroda on a 2-year deal, Oswalt on a 1-year deal, and moving Bard back to the pen. Bard's been shaky at times, but I think he deserves a chance at the closer job. Plus I don't see him panning out as a starter.
