There was baseball under the lights at JetBlue Park on Wednesday night. Jake Peavy toed the rubber for the Red Sox and was strong over 4.2 innings, allowing a run on 4 hits and striking out 5. While the Red Sox ultimately fell to the Pirates by a final score of 4-2, Jackie Bradley kept the battle for center field interesting going 1-3 with a double.

  • Whether Jackie Bradley wins the center field job, or Grady Sizemore fits the bill, neither can be expected to completely fill the gap left by Jacoby Ellsbury. The 30 year old provided speed, offense, and power atop Boston’s order that can’t be easily replaced. (Life without the leading man)
  • Tweet of the day: I wonder what it could be! Probably just a concert or a soccer game. Nothing to see here, move along…
