Well, it’s safe to say there wasn’t a whole lot of drama in last week’s poll, which raised the question of which Pawtucket starting pitcher would pitch in the majors first. A whopping 83% of you (including myself) voted for Brandon Workman, who saw the most time of the bunch in 2013 as a starter and reliever. Allen Webster came in a distant second with only 10%, while Ranaudo and Owens pulled only 3%. Matt Barnes pulled exactly one vote, which surprised me considering there have been some very optimistic projections for him as a potential major leaguer this season.

Which Pawtucket starter will pitch in the majors first?

    Brandon Workman (83%)
    Allen Webster (10%)
    Anthony Ranaudo (3%)
    Henry Owens (3%)
    Matt Barnes (1%)

For this week’s poll, I want some drama, so we’re going to pick a much more divisive subject: the competition for the starting centerfield position. We know we have two candidates: prospect Jackie Bradley Jr. and veteran Grady Sizemore. Bradley saw the majors last year but struggled to adjust to the majors, while Sizemore hasn’t played since 2011 with a variety of injury issues. We know Bradley has a very versatile skillset and Sizemore has looked extremely good in Spring Training, but we don’t know whether Bradley will be 100% major league-ready this season or if Sizemore will be able to play every day.

There are very compelling arguments to be made for both players, so I suspect this vote will be a lot closer than the previous ones.

Who should start in centerfield for the Red Sox this season?

    Jackie Bradley Jr.
    Grady Sizemore
