Let me start off my introducing myself. I am a fan of the Boston Red Sox organization, long before anyone called themselves a member of Red Sox Nation. I’m not old enough to remember Bucky Dent, but I can promise you I hate Aaron Boone just as much. Scott Boras said he thinks Jason Varitek is worthy of a four-year, $52.4 million commitment, which is what the Yankees’ Jorge Posada got last year. Posada posted a career best 154 OPS+, the year before his free agency. Varitek? A career worst 73.
