I have nothing to say. Sure, I have a lot of things to talk about this offseason, but that’s for later, the REAL offseason. We’ve been used to this for a long time, but how quickly we forget – things are absolutely DEAD until the World Series ends.
Sure, I could tell you how we hired a new third-base coach in DeMarlo Hale, or That ticket prices are being raised AGAIN – enough already! or perhaps more pressing, David Wells requestiing a trade which changes the complexion of the off-season to “should we trade Arroyo to make room for Papelbon” to wondering what we can get for Wells. Should we trade both? Should we not acquiesce to Wells and trade Arroyo? Should we trade Wells and keep Arroyo?
These are all interesting questions, but these are all questions (and answers) that until we get more concrete information, are just rantings and ravings. We don’t quite know for sure that Wells did in fact demand a trade. We don’t have anything to go on on possible Manny trades (other than the fact if Manny does really want to trade for the Angels, we should have Casey Kotchman coming to us or don’t do the deal).
Other than that, what else is there to say? Baseball’s not over. It is for the Red Sox, but it’s not over in general, it’s hard to turn the page.
So why don’t I link you to Jayson Stark of ESPN’s 10 reasons why this will be a great World Series. And you know what? I agree with him. Check it out at 8 PM on FOX tonight.
