GAME NOTES: An ugly game last night. Beckett threw 100 IP in 3.2 IP, surrendering a career high 9 runs. Certainly we weren’t expecting him to go 32-0, right? Nonetheless a series win would have really buoyed our spirits, as we feel the loss of Coco Crisp, I think, more and more that the days pass. There’s really no solution, either, and Francona’s just going to have to keep trotting out Harris, Mohr, and Pena. Pena went 2-4 with 2 K on the night, and while I was only able to catch the top 9th due to travel, he didn’t commit an error and friends say there was nothing of note that happens – meaning nothing bad. A sweep in Tampa will assuage fears, but these aren’t your kids’ Devil Rays – or rather, I should say these aren’t you four years ago’s Devil Rays.
