GAME NOTES: Felix Hernandez was ON last night. He was mixing that 99-mph fastball with consistent velocity into the late innings with a great looking slider and curve. He’s the real deal, and if Felix can keep his mind set on dominating baseball games, the sky is the limit. Multiple Cy Youngs, I’m talking. He came into Fenway and stomped on the glorious occasion of Dice-K’s debut like it was nothing to him, which it was. I often get caught up in hype, but at 21 I can only imagine what King Felix is going to do in the future (by the way, what’s up with every young phenom getting King before his name all of a sudden?). Anyway, barring a rainout, 2004 ALDS hero Jarrod Washburn goes up against Timmeh, who pitched well after the 2nd inning in Texas last Friday. After Hernandez, Washburn is going to look like Rudy Seanez to the Red Sox.
