GAME NOTES: The stud who hits bombs! Doug Mirabelli is the shocking hero for the Red Sox victory in the series opener vs. LA Friday night, banging a solo HR in the 5th inning to ignite the offense, and later providing another RBI with a lining single up the middle. If Doug can even hit .200 with some glimpses of power like tonight, I think I can live with his presence in the lineup as long as Wakefield is around. Speaking of, he was also tremendous Friday for his second straight positive start. Saturday, Mr. Schilling looks to keep his success going against the sub for Kelvim Escobar, Hector Carrasco. The veteran Carrasco has pitched on seven major league teams, including a short stint with the Red Sox, where he posted a 9.45 ERA in 8 games. Throughout his career though, Carrasco has a 3.85 ERA as a starter and reliever.
