Some of you may already know and some may not be aware but in a freak accident former Red Sox pitcher Geremi Gonzalez was struck by lightning yesterday at a beach in his native Venezuela. Gonzalez pitched for the Boston Red Sox in 2005 and passes away at the age of 33.
With Boston, Gonzalez won two games and lost one in 28 appearances in 2005. Overall, Gonzalez appeared in 131 games, started 83, and compiled a record of 30-35 in his career in the majors.
